Contractors have differing definitions of selections, upgrades, options, and change orders. To address this, CoConstruct has a very broad definition of a “selection item,” that encompasses all of these by grouping them together under the selections umbrella. When you present your clients with a selection, they then make a choice. Depending on how you set up the selection item, the client will either enter their own choice or choose from among some options you present.
Selections may be cost-impacting, but they do not have to be. Selections may later be assigned to a change order, but they do not have to be. You have just as much flexibility in how you treat selection decisions in CoConstruct as you did before you started to use CoConstruct, but with the selection sheet, all of these decisions are now accessible in one place.
